The innovative boards from Honext Material S.L, marketed by Gabarró Hermanos, the leading national company in the distribution of sawn wood, wooden, bamboo and technological floors, boards and acrylic stone, have been protagonists in the award-winning stand of the Community of Madrid at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) 2024.

The project, carried out by Andtonic Studio S.L., has received the Best Stand Award in the Institutions and Autonomous Communities Category. With an area of 1,448 square meters, the stand had 300 HONEXT® panels, which is equivalent to 6.5 tons of upcycled fiber.

100% reusable material

HONEXT® panels are manufactured from end-of-life paper waste, without the use of resins and are 100% reusable.

For the execution of this project, Andtonic Studio, S.L. chose the HONEXT® covering for the walls because it is a carbon-negative material, since it has not only beautified the stand but has also contributed to absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere. A most innovative project at an environmental level and at the same time sustainable.

At the forefront of innovation and sustainability

HONEXT® boards, which have recently obtained the Cradle to Cradle Certified® GOLD certification, the most demanding certificate in terms of circular and sustainable materials, are manufactured using 100% waste fibers from the paper industry and are not only “Circular by design”, They are also carbon-negative and set a new standard for building materials.

This upcycled material, made from cellulose waste and which at the end of its useful life can also be recycled and transformed into new products, is one of Gabarró's main commitments in terms of sustainable and circular materials.

In addition to having third-party verified sustainability certifications, HONEXT® boards are a sustainable alternative, as they can be flame retardant up to B-s1,d0 without the use of toxic chemicals, and also offer competitive mechanical properties, which makes them suitable for a wide range of interior applications such as decorative panels, acoustic solutions, ceilings, floors, partitions and furniture, among others.

HONEXT® boards have also achieved the Material Health Certificate™ Gold Level version 4.0, an exceptional milestone for a fire-retardant building material made from recycled industrial fibres. The absence of resins or toxic chemicals in HONEXT® boards further reinforces their safety and sustainability.
