Stay Skyeview: Innovation and Cutting-Edge Design
Stay Skyeview is much more than a home; it is a true architectural masterpiece perched atop Camelback Mountain in Arizona. This spectacular project, developed by Cameron Custom and Camelot Homes, bears the signature of architects Joel Contreras and Trent Hancock. The combination of contemporary design, innovative materials, and a unique natural setting has made it a benchmark in luxury design.
The project has been internationally recognized, winning the ICONIC Design Awards 2024 in the category of Innovation in Material Use. This recognition highlights how Stay Skyeview redefines the relationship between interior and exterior spaces, thanks to a careful selection of materials that harmonize with the environment.
A material that makes a difference
One of the most innovative aspects of the design is the use of Lunawood's Luna triple 32×140 cladding. This sustainable material not only brings a modern and sleek aesthetic but also meets the climatic demands of the region. Lunawood’s thermowood offers durability, resistance, and a natural finish that blends perfectly with the desert landscape.
The wooden cladding is used to create a seamless transition between interior and exterior spaces, allowing natural light and panoramic views to take center stage in the design. This solution not only adds aesthetic value but also contributes to the sustainability of the project, an increasingly important aspect of modern architecture.
The vision of Joel Contreras and Trent Hancock was to design a home that didn’t compete with the environment but rather complemented it. The large windows, open spaces, and strategic use of natural materials achieve a perfect balance between comfort and connection to the landscape.
