HONEXT: The product that amazed in Maderalia 2022

On 29 March it took place in the Tailor Hotel of Maderalia the conference on “Architecture and New Materials.”, where Loreto Burés, representative of Honext, gave a report on this new material.

HONEXT is an innovative company based in Barcelona that recycles pertinent fibres of waste to manufacture sustainable boards. It does not incorporate toxic resins, but it applies a process circulate with biotechnology and of footprint of neutral carbon.

The recycled of waste of fiber of cellulose solves an important problem of the paper industry. The factories of paper in Europe generate 8M ton/year of waste designated primary slimes, that are the main prime matter of the boards HONEXT®.

For the preparation of the board of Honext, uses the most advanced biotechnology, that consists in supra-recycle the waste of fibers of cellulose, reinforcing and protecting the links between them.

First, they analyze, group and classify the slimes in function of his composition. Depending on the quality adds 0 - 50% of waste of cardboard of the post-consumption. Afterwards they join the fibers by means of biotechnology that achieves links stronger between the fibers of cellulose. Later, press and gives form to the boards in humid, for finally happen the board by a process of dried and obtain the final product.

The boards of Honext have a size of 1220x2440x12mm, manufactured 100% with waste, thing that allows them to obtain the certification Cradle to Cradle Silver. The board of Honext can be used in crude, painted, glazed, veneered, or cladded on HPL, allowing a wide range of applications for interior: Cladding of walls, false ceilings, equipment for Retail, light applications, ephemeral architecture or Contract.
